Moodle 3: Activities & Resources: External Tools: LSU Laws Research Guides

  

To Add the LSU Laws Research Guides External Link:

1. Log in to Moodle and open your desired course.

2. Click the green Edit button in the top right-hand corner of the screen.

3. Click the Add and Activity or Resource link in a given topic.

PLEASE NOTE: There are two different ways to complete the next step depending on which view you are in. If you see two separate drop-down boxes, click Add an activty and select External Tool. For more information about this option, view Activity Chooser Options


4. Select the External tool option from the list of activities and resources available. Click Add

5. The External Tool settings window will appear. Enter a name for the activity and select LSU Laws Research Guide from the Preconfigured tool dropdown menu.

6. Click Save and Return to Course

To Use the LSU Laws Research Guides External Tool:

1. Select the LSU Laws Research Guides activity.

2. Clicking this link will redirect you to the LibApps Library. Use the drop down boxes to find the content that you are looking for.

3. There are four total search boxes to fill out: the LibGuides Site, Content Type, Guide, and Guide Page. Use them to narrow down the search for what you are looking for, then click Embed Content at the bottom left.

4. The content you selected will now be available to view in the Laws Research Guide link on the moodle page. Click the View Content button and it will bring up the content.
