Moodle 3: Activities & Resources: Feedback Settings

The feedback activity enables teachers to create a customized survey for collecting feedback through a variety of question types. For information on adding a Feedback activity to your course, see Add a Feedback Survey Activity.

Feedback Settings

General Settings:

In the General settings, the instructor can designate a title and provide a description of the Feedback Survey.

Availability Settings:

The Availability settings allows instructors to set a specific timeframe in which students can participate in the survey.

Question and Submission Settings:

Instructors can choose to record user names or make the survey anonymous. They can also allow students to submit the survey multiple times, be notified via email of submissions, and auto-number the questions.

NOTE: If the survey is set to log student (user) information, and someone completes the survey, instructors CANNOT go back and make it anonymous. Make sure you choose your selections here carefully!

After Submission Settings:

Instructors can allows students to see the result analysis once they have participated in the survey and elect to show a completion message (such as 'thank you'). After submitting the feedback, a continue button is displayed, which links to the course page, but instructors can customize the link to connect to a specific activity by entering the URL of the activity.

Common Module Settings:

These settings specify the visibility of the Feedback Survey for students (Hide/Show), and the group mode and grouping can be designated.

Restrict Access Settings:

The survey can be restricted based upon a date, group, activity completion of another activity/resource in the course, etc.

NOTE: If more than one restriction is added, students must meet EACH of the requirements before the activity becomes available.

Activity Completion Settings:

By default, students can manually mark the Feedback Survey as complete, but an instructor can change this to be required. If required, the students can be marked complete by either viewing the activity and/or submitting feedback.

Tags Settings:

Tags are keywords that can be added to an activity or resource.
