Moodle: Gradebook: Multiplicator and Offset

General Information:

Moodle allows users to curve graded assignments using the Offset and Multiplicator tools.

The Multiplicator is a factor by which all grades for a graded item will be multiplied.  For example, if the multiplicator is 2.0 and the maximum grade is 100, then all grades will be doubled.  The default value for the multiplicator is 1.0.

The Offset is a factor that will be added to all grades for a grade item.  For example, if the offset is 5, then all grades will be increased by 5

To Use the Grade Offset and Multiplicator Tools:

  1. From Gradebook Setup, click Edit > Edit settings for the desired grade item.
  2. Click the Show more... link just above the Parent Category section.
  3. Select Edit from under the Actions column, and Edit settings for the graded item you wish to edit.
