Computer Labs: Checking Computer Availability in a Lab


Sometimes the computer labs seem to overflow with users, impeding computer access.  Fortunately, there is a way to check computer availability before going into the lab.

To Check Computer Availability in a Lab:

1.  Access Current Lab Computer Usage Stats: LSU LabStats.

2.  Choose the Computer Lab for which the user would like to check computer availability. Maps are currently available for the following labs:

  • Coates 205 MMC

  • LSU Library 141 IC

  • LSU Library 141 Mac

  • LSU Library 230A MMC

  • LSU Library 230B MMC

  • LSU Library 230E MMC

  • LSU Library 232 MMC

  • LSU Library 241

3.  After selecting a Lab, a map will appear in a pop-up window.  The map will show the layout of the lab and computer availability.

4.  Computer availability is color-coded.

  • The computers with a blue (blue) screen are in use.

  • The computers with a red (red) screen are off-line and currently unavailable for use.

  • The computers with a yellow  (yellow) screen are on-line and currently available for use.

  • The computers with a green (green) screen are available for use.
