Moodle 3: Activities & Resources: Folder Settings

A folder allows a teacher to display several course resources together. For instructions on adding a folder, see Moodle 3: Activities & Resources: Add and Manage a Folder.

Folder Settings

General Settings:

In the General settings, the instructor can designate a title and provide a description of the folder and the resources contain within it.

Content Settings:

In the Content settings, instructors can add the files to the folder. For instructions on adding the files, see Moodle 3: Activities & Resources: Add and Manage a Folder. In this area, instructors can also choose how to display the folder contents, whether subfolders are expanded, and if students can see a 'download folder' button. The display options are: On a separate page or Inline on the course page.

Common Module Settings:

These settings specify the visibility of the folder for students (Hide/Show).

Access Restriction Settings:

The folder can be restricted based upon a date, group, activity completion of another activity/resource in the course, etc.

NOTE: If more than one restriction is added, students must meet EACH of the requirements before the folder becomes available.

Activity Completion Settings:

By default, students can manually mark the folder as complete, but an instructor can change this to be required. If required, the students can be marked complete by viewing the folder.

Tags Settings:

Tags are keywords that can be added to an activity or resource.
