Printing on macOS:
NOTE: Before beginning any printer installation or hook-up, please review Apple's printer and scanner software article to make sure that the printer is compatible with your version of macOS.
Most versions of macOS are such that the required printing software may already installed or it will automatically download and install the software when the printer is connected. To avoid installing software that may be out-of-date follow the instructions packaged with the printer to unpack, install ink, and insert paper but DO NOT install the software that came with the printer.
Use Apple's, Mac 101: Print from your Mac guide for help on the following topics:
- How to add a printer
- Start a print job on the Mac and manage its options
- Generate and manage PDFs
- Manage the printer queue and printer dock icon
- Share the printer queue
